Doctors for Change (DFC) has partnered with the Texas Jail Project to support individuals who have questions or concerns about the health and safety of their family members while incarcerated. We are looking for member volunteers interested in reviewing case files and medical records , answering questions, and providing explanations as requested. Doctors for Change (DFC) has partnered with Harris County Public Health, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston Health Department, and local advocates on an initiative to prevent opioid misuse in our Houston communities. We are hosting a series of trainings that are targeted to medical providers and professionals who are interested in applying for a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine for the treatment of opioid use disorder. This is a free training and is open to all providers in Harris County. Learn more
PATH Collaborative is a partnership of medical and community-based organizations in the Greater Houston Area working to identify and assist trafficked individuals onto a path of healing and recovery in Texas. PATH seeks to build capacity in key areas: (1) community awareness of trafficking as a significant public health problem in the Greater Houston Area; (2) adoption of evidence-based practices in victim identification and response; and, (3) longitudinal care and recovery support for trafficking survivors.
