Doctors for Change is proud to partner with Houston Methodist and Harris County Public Health to bring you “Comprehensive Care: The Role of Mental Health,” the first of a series of continuing education events directed towards physicians, nurses, case managers, social workers, allied health care professionals and others involved or with an interest in social determinants of health.
In order to improve the health of patients and the population and align with the trajectory towards value-based initiatives and payment structures, physicians and other providers need to expand and reorient their mental paradigms to also incorporate upstream – social and environmental – factors into their understanding, practice, and treatment. This series will address key upstream health issues currently affecting the greater Houston population, and the first topic in this series is mental health.
